Alcohol Policy & Behavior Guidelines PDF Print E-mail

Attendance at Mud Nationals has grown to the point that traffic is frequently congested, and there is a growing concern for safety by High Lifter, sponsors, and participants. As an effort to improve safety there will be NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WHILE RIDING ATVS, RUVs, MOTORCYCLES , or other motorized vehicles, on any property belonging to Mud Creek Offroad Park during the High Lifter ATV Mud Nationals. No open container containing an alcoholic beverage will be allowed in possession of a person operating or as a passenger of a motor vehicle. No person under the age of 21 shall be in possession of alcoholic beverages.

Security and police officers will be on patrol in the campgrounds, parking areas, trails and vendor areas observing for violations of this policy and other reckless or dangerous operation. Violators will have their open alcoholic beverages poured out and upon second offense, or particularly dangerous behavior IN THE JUDGMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS , will be removed from the park without refund of their entrance fees. Law enforcement officers will also be enforcing applicable laws of the State of Texas regarding driving under the influence.

This policy does not prohibit consumption of alcoholic beverages in campsites or when not riding. It also does not require inspection of ice chests. It is simply an effort to improve safety and decrease the potential for accidents.

Behavior and Conduct at the Mud Nationals

Please be aware that the security officers at Mud Nationals are not from a security company.  They are law enforcement officers from the neighboring cities and counties and DO have the authority to arrest anyone in the park for illegal activity and behavior.  This includes unruly behavior, public nudity, driving drunk, etc.  We want everyone to enjoy themselves but not at the expense of others.  Anyone who refuses to conduct themselves in a respectful way and who refuses to abide by the requests of the officers or event staff will be escorted out and/or arrested regardless of age or sex.

High Lifter continues to strive for Mud Nationals to be a family oriented event.  With the help of the police, park employees and our own High Lifter staff, we do our best to monitor the behavior of our attendees so that no one is offended by behavior, clothing etc.  If you wear clothing that can be deemed offensive to others, you may be asked to remove it, cover it up or turn it inside out.  If your behavior is offensive to others, you will be asked to stop what you’re doing or you will be escorted out of the park by the police.

While we want everyone who attends Mud Nationals to have a great time riding, seeing old friends and making new ones, please remember that there are thousands of people in attendance and there will be times when you will need to exercise patience and courtesy while riding.  The High Line is generally a high-traffic area, especially during the evening hours.  If you are trying to go either down the high line or back up it during these peak times, you will need to remain patient and realize everyone is there to have fun.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
